Description
📢 This resource is part of a money-saving bundle!
This alphabet sort and match game will engage students while strengthening skills!
✅This Download Includes:
- 13 printable pages
- Color & b/w version of game mats & game pieces
- File folder tab labels (uppercase / lowercase)
- Directions for game assembly
▶️ How to Play:
Students play the game by sorting through the game pieces and matching one game piece per letter on the game mat (letters A – Z).
✏️ Use the games to send home with students for additional letter recognition practice, or utilize the games in small group intervention, whole group instruction, tutoring, and centers for practice.
✂️ How to Prep:
The file folder design stores easily in a file box or file cabinet and is low prep for teachers.
- Print the mats needed for your students
- Laminate for durability
- Use double-sided tape to adhere into a file folder
- You can print and use the included game pieces, but I find it more engaging for students when I offer them alphabet magnets or letter tiles as game pieces!
☀️Hot Tips…
⭐For additional engagement, have students write letter they match on a sticky note!
⭐ If game pieces end up everywhere except the file folder game mat, try placing the game on a large tray or cookie sheet, as well as placing game pieces in a small container. That usually does the trick for students unable to figure out space boundaries on their own.
⭐ Have students match lowercase letters to uppercase game mats (or vice versa)!
⭐Need to create a game in a hurry? Instead of printing, laminating, trimming, and Velcro’ing the game pieces, use 1″ plastic letter tiles OR magnetic alphabet letters on the printed game mats instead!
