These Multisensory CVC Word Family Building Playdough Mats, covering 28 different CVC word families, were designed out of the need for developmentally appropriate word blending intervention in public school kindergarten settings. Teachers need hands-on CVC word-building activities that are engaging, play-based, differentiated, and decodable. Students ADORE building words with this playdough activity!

Each word mat measures 3.25″ x 10.25″. These mats are stored easily in a file box or file cabinet. The activity is low prep for teachers – print, laminate, cut, and place in a workstation with playdough!

▶️ How to Use:

The mats serve as visual aids for students in need of more support and sound pattern work. Students should build the complete word with playdough, practice saying the sound of each letter, and blending the sounds together quickly to read the word.
